Providing Private Music Lessons to East Tennessee's Johnson City, Elizabethton and Kingsport. We are an acclaimed school celebrated for our partnership with the Royal Conservatory of Music.
OUR MISSION:
Welcome to Blair
Do you believe in developing human potential? We love seeing kids and adults grow a skill worth pursuing.
It started with one determined home school mom teaching 80 kids out of her basement. We have since taught over 100,000 private music lessons at our fully staffed Academy following the standards set forth by the Royal Conservatory of Music.
Parents are quick to notice our nurturing environment, our creative performances and the results of our students speak for themselves. Our dream is to create confident people with a breathtaking set of skills and a passion to share their talents.
As a founding school for the Royal Conservatory's Music Development Program (David Foster, Oscar Peterson, Sir Roger Norrington) our standards are among the highest. While we work to encourage every student, the stars that shine brightest are those that learn the value of consistent effort over time. As students build a foundation of skill they progress into ensembles, competitions, performance opportunities, and more.

Mini-Musicians
(ages 3-7)
In our Mini-Musicians program, we cater to the boundless energy and curiosity of children aged 3-7. Recognizing the early years as formative for musical appreciation and talent, we've crafted an interactive and explorative curriculum for those not quite ready for the intensity of 1-on-1 lessons.
Here, young learners are introduced to the magical world of music through engaging activities, rhythm/note reading, and captivating melodies. Every lesson is an adventure, designed to nurture their innate musicality and ignite a lifelong love for the arts.

"When we recently moved to the area, we were concerned we wouldn't be able to find a music school on par with the one we had in NY. I am so glad we found Blair Academy. The office staff are friendly and efficient. The teachers are talented, patient, and kind. In addition to weekly private lessons, we love the various performance opportunities, summer camps, music theory, fun contests, etc. It has been a great match for our music loving family."

I have been a violin student at Blair Academy for 4 years. I absolutely love the environment and my teacher! After lots of preparation with my teacher I was accepted into Tennessee Governor's School for the Arts with a full, merit based $3,000 scholarship, and I am now preparing for college auditions. Blair Academy has helped me to grow as a musician, and has prepared me very well for auditions and performances.”
